The Ricoh 9100 digital printing machine enables us to customize each digital output quickly and affordably for our clients through customizable media settings and variable data printing (VDP) technology. People demand information immediately – and they want it tailored just for them. Variable data printing allows us to personalize each individual sheet with different information.

McClung specializes in creating high-quality tailored media in a wide range of media stocks and finish options including oversized media, synthetics, textured prints, and more. The capability to change information on each printed sheet is unique to digital printing, as digital printers are pulling from electronic files instead of printing plates. Electronic files transfer images and text with exceptional consistency in captivating color that is sure to grab your audience’s attention every time. The opportunity to create mass personalized messages results in improved response rates from our client’s customers and decreased prep work for our employees between jobs.

With over 10 years of experience running digital presses, Kevin Bowles, an employee at McClung emphasizes how beneficial the machine is for McClung’s clients – “using the Ricoh 9100 levels up our clients’ marketing materials and impresses their customers with high-quality materials. There are no limitations to the types of industries that benefit from this digital printing press, but we most often see it used for small quantity jobs that require 10,000 sheets or less of marketing materials like business cards and brochures which require different names, addresses, and other information throughout the job.”

Here’s How We Do It.

The high-quality printed outputs of the Ricoh 9100 set McClung Companies apart from our competitors. Every output is deliberately printed and checked for consistency while maintaining speed and accuracy through automated tasks. The Media Identification Unit allows us to maintain exceptional control including preset print settings, proofing touch points, and finishing solutions. This machine has 4 paper trays that hold 13×19, 12×18, and 8.5×11 sheets of paper. The older machine can print up to 28″ long sheets. The Ricoh 9100 is capable of adding up to 250 spot color applications per page. After calibration, color gradations are adjusted automatically so that the last print remains just as vivid as the first, even between switching media and paper types. Outputs are capable of reaching 1200 x 4800 dpi resolution which is sure to captivate any audience. The Ricoh 9100 produces up to 130 papers per minute (ppm), is capable of saddle stitching books, and transitions between jobs effortlessly. In the event of changing customer needs, our employees can change consumables, including toner, without interrupting the job. More speed won’t lead to more mistakes, as proofing touch points allow for informed decisions at opportune times without delays or reprints. Even the best print job can fall apart at the end if you don’t have quality finishing solutions. The Ricoh has many options including collates, binds, punches, and trims to help automate the process with less manual labor and fewer errors.
